Major League Baseball will announce the winners of the AL & NL MVP Awards on Thursday, but this year, there doesn’t figure to be any drama regarding the winners. In the Senior Circuit, Ronald Acuna Jr. became the charter member of the 40-70 club, helping the Atlanta Braves win an MLB-best 104 games in 2023. Meanwhile, in the AL, Shohei Ohtani will likely take home his second MVP Award as he once again demonstrated that he is still baseball’s premier two-way player despite missing most of September for an Angels team that was nowhere near the playoff picture in the second half of the season. Of course, the real Ohtani intrigue is where he will sign this offseason, but before we get there, he and Acuna will have to find some space on their respective mantles for some new hardware.
Which brings us to today’s quiz of the day. How many AL and NL MVPs since the 1998 MLB season can you name in six minutes?
Good luck!
