The Detroit Pistons have finally won a game in 2024, and surprisingly enough, the win came even though they were severely undermanned.
It took 15 days and eight games, but now at least the Pistons can say that they’ve won a game this year.
When you only have four wins on the season and your superstar player — Cade Cunningham — is out with an injury, every positive counts. The Pistons know more than most that the losses can really add up.
Veteran guard Alec Burks came off the bench and scored 34 points to lead Detroit to a 129-117 win over the Washington Wizards. Second-year center Jalen Duren notched 20 points and 19 rebounds while second-year combo guard Jaden Ivey added 24 points, seven rebounds and six assists.
